Mycroft Books is a small secondhand book store. Currently we are an online venture with occasional events and markets seeing us dragged from the library.

We are founded on the belief that people still love books. With book stores closing and readers turning to digital options this might not be so obvious.

Cicero claimed that “a room without books is like a body without a soul”. Our collections of books offer so much of ourselves; our childhood follies, our desire to be entertained, to be better, to experience things beyond ourselves – each library offers us a glimpse at the personality of its owner.

Mycroft Books hopes to reignite the passion for books in our readers. And more than that we hope we can guide and introduce readers to authors forgotten or unappreciated, to Australian poets and writers, small publishers and limited editions.

We are still cataloging our books and hope to have them online soon.
