About Mycroft

Mycroft welcomes submissions of short stories and flash fiction from writers worldwide. While our focus is on emerging and early-career writers, we encourage submissions from writers at all stages of their careers.

Above all, we are looking for exceptional storytelling.

We are drawn to stories that surprise, unsettle and linger.

We welcome a broad range of crime and suspense fiction, from classic mystery to domestic suspense, psychological thriller and literary crime.

We are particularly interested in fiction that explores the darkness beneath ordinary life— stories shaped by secrets, obsession, deception and moral ambiguity.

We are less interested in gratuitous violence or gore, shock value without substance, predictable twists or formulaic storytelling.
